Is a pond loop better than a horizontal ground loop? |

If you have a pond available and within close proximity to your house,
then a pond loop is the best type of loop to install. The reason being
is that it is easier to transfer heat through water than through soil.

How big of a pond do I need? |

The minimum pond size that you should have for a pond loop is ½ acre.
The pond needs to be a minimum of 10 feet deep at its deepest point.
The pond loop will be placed at the deepest point of the pond therefore
maximizing the efficiency of the system. |
